Fives farm started with a few feeder pigs raised by veterinarian, Dr. Brooks Ahalt, to provide home raised quality meat for his family. After a year or so his daughter expressed interest in breeding and raising pigs to show in 4H. Dr. Ahalt purchased show pigs and she showed in the Frederick fair and state fair and after a year or two he and his daughter wanted to try and compete at a higher level so they carefully selected foundation sows from all over the United States to breed to some of the best boars in the country. It is from there that Fives Farm was started. We continue to breed piglets only from proven genetic lines to provide the best quality show pigs that we can. We currently show and breed Hampshires, Berkshires, Yorkshires, Landrace, Durocs and occasional crosses.
